Nspyre’s big data unit required a visualization framework to provide customers with customized and branded visualization dashboards.
As I had previous experience with visualization design, Nspyre hired me as an intern as part of my master thesis project to design this information visualization framework. A web-based framework called Nvision was created in that allows users to create and customize their own visualization-dashboard. Through iterative user-testing and interface adjustments most usability problems in the application have been eliminated. The system was used to conduct an experimental user study with 184 participants into the use of interactive information flow diagrams for explaining the structural relation of the different system components.
Currently the application is being deployed on Nspyre’s big data cluster. A test version is included in the link.
